LUNCHEON

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and other dignitaries issued the 37th annual Proclamations of Irish Week in the State of Washington and in Seattle and King County. They were joined by Galway Mayor Tom Costello, Mayor of our Sister City in Ireland. Also in attendance were Ambassador John Bruton, the EU Ambassador to the US and former Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) who was Seattle's 2008 St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal, along with Joe Martin, the Parade's Honorary Grand Marshal. Irish government Minister John McGuinness, TD, Minister of State for Trade and Commerce, was also present. Irish entertainment, with the Baile Glas Irish Dancers, Uilleann Piper Tom Quinn and bagpiper Alexander Schiele, started at 11:30 AM.
