SPOKANE - LIMERICK SISTER CITY SOCIETY
The Society officially began on March 4, 1990 when a
joint agreement linking the two cities was signed in
Spokane by the Mayors of Spokane and Limerick. In the

Many delegations from Spokane and Limerick have strengthened

THE IRISH CLUB OF ALASKA
The Irish Club of Alaska is a Non-Profit organization

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE IN
GAELIC
annually celebrated in October in the Gaelic language.
The 2007 Mass is on Friday, October 26, at 7:30 PM, at
St. Patrick's Church, 2702 Broadway Ave E (just off I-5
at Roanoke St). Mass booklets in English and Gaelic will
be available for all in attendance. All hymns and
readings will be in Gaelic with only the Homily in
English. This Mass commemorates the deceased members
of Seattle’s Irish community, especially those who have
passed away in the past 12 months whose names will be
read out during the General Intercessions. To submit

WHAT
IS SEAN-NÓS DANCING?
Sean-nós, which means 'old style' or 'old way' in Irish
Gaelic, is a form of old-style Irish step dancing.
A percussive solo dance, Sean-nós is a living folk
tradition that mostly survives in the Connemara
Gaeltacht on the West Coast of Ireland. It is
performed at céilís, in pubs or houses to the sound of traditional Irish music. In Seattle, weekly Sunday workshops are held at Velocity Dance
