INFORMATION ON THE
MATT TALBOT CENTER
The Matt Talbot Center began in 1985 as a "drop- in" facility and has evolved into a place for those in the Greater Seattle Area who are serious about living drug and alcohol free. Matt Talbot Center "Members" are provided with the tools and opportunities to come in from the streets to restore productivity and self-sufficiency to their lives, and to re-establish relationships with their families.
Our mission is to help restore participants to healthy lives, and to encourage them
to take responsibility for their actions and family obligations. MTC treats “members”
holistically, recognizing that each of them has individual needs for physical, mental
and spiritual healing.
Transitional housing is available to qualified members in Traugott Terrace, 50 clean & sober, fully supported apartment units, in addition to:
Drug and Alcohol Relapse Prevention Program
Counseling and referral services
Bible studies and prayer
AIDS counseling
Employment assistance and literacy tutoring
“Bridge” services, reconnecting members to family
Wilderness Initiative (hiking, outdoor retreats, etc.)
Cultural and educational events (museums, theatre, etc.)
Basic shelter: “clean & sober” group living quarters for those actively participating in treatment, in partnership with Immanuel Lutheran Church
Outreach ministries to incarcerated, mentally ill, hospitalized and other treatment centers
The programs of the Matt Talbot Center are funded entirely by private donations
from individuals, businesses, private foundations and trusts.
